Killzone shadow fall review ign5/11/2023 ![]() And then standing by and doing nothing as the PLO murder the emigrating Israelis in the streets while they try to evacuate to the Israeli-controlled half, because "On their side of the wall, it's their rules.Knack – Review (PS4) Despite some visual flair and a fair bit of visceral beat-em-up action, Knack for the Playstation 4 ultimately falls short of release title expectations. ![]() ![]() To continue the Israel/Palestine analogy, it would be like Israel dividing Tel Aviv in half and then handing control of one half to the PLO. Right from the start, it had me rolling my eyes at why the Vektans would essentially hand control of half their planet to the fascist regime that invaded them not 2 years prior not just integrating them into the civilian population, but welcoming their warships and soldiers onto the planet and then letting them govern themselves. The decision to depart from the usual tightly-focused and linear campaign in favor of more open and tactical gameplay also greatly hurt the game's playability in my opinion, since GG's inexperience at making such games really showed in some of the level design and some of the more repetitive gameplay segments. ![]() He was basically just a throwaway everyman. Like AJ says in his review, Lucas Kellan is completely forgettable, and the decision to never cut to third-person in cinematics just made him that much more unrelatable. I really feel that GG's decision to essentially abandon the storyline and characters from the previous 3 Killzone games and start over fresh with a new character hurt my interest in the story. I maybe would've given it a 7/10, but regardless the campaign mode is severely lacking in many areas and largely just felt like a chore to get through with very little payoff for the effort. Posting what I posted in the r/PS4 thread:Īs someone who's been a fan of Killzone since KZ2, it pains me to say that I agree with his 6/10 final verdict. Ultimately though, it's whether you like the persona or not in the end, just like how many people can't stand Steve Irwin, which is fine, that's one of the trade-offs for constructing a persona, you're going to alienate a certain part of your potential audience. Why those two are memorable out of a sea of many nature show hosts and commenters is because of who they are and how they present themselves and their show. Ditto for Steve Irwin, who was already memorable and popular prior to his unfortunate death. He provides information about nature and animals, but what draws you to him in the first place is his delivery and personal charisma. I kinda think about someone like David Attenborough. It's a video show first and foremost, so entertainment has to come in somewhere, to engage the audience. It makes them memorable, and they still provide information in a mostly entertaining way, granted you like them in the first place.įor just information, a written review seems more appropriate. Even Totalbiscuit's subtitle is The Cynical Brit, and of course, Yahtzee's.well he's Yahtzee. It's part of the persona, I mean, it's in his name 'Angry Joe'.
